What Children Learn While Observing Our Prayer Time

Children learn by observing. God commanded that we raise our children in the discipline and instruction of Jesus.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children, to anger, but bring them up in the disciple and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 (NASB).

As fathers we were given the responsibility of make sure our children are brought up  know the Lord. And preparing them to live for Jesus.

Children learn by observation and watch us much closer than we think. They learn alot from us. They will learn 3 important things from us during our prayer time.

Relationship with God

They will learn how to have a relationship with God by watching and listening to us. We must also teach them that everone is a sinner and we must as Jesus to forgive us our sins in order to have a relationship.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (NASB).

They will observe our sincere time of prayer and conversations with God. They will see how sincere we are with the Lord.

Believe our prayers will be answered

They will see how we pray and how sincere we are and our belief in God answering our prayers.

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truley I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will happen. And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”  Matthew 21:21-23 (NASB).

Believe in God

They will be able to since whether we believe what we say about God. They will be able to tell if we truley believe our own words.

“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:11-13 (NASB).

It is our responsibility to raise our children up in the Lord. To teach them to pray, believe, and live the way God wants for us. It is our responsiblity given to us by Jesus. We are to teach the little ones and let them flurish in the Lord. We are to do our best. Show them how to have a relationship with the Lord, guide them the best that we can.
